Who won Giro d’Italia 2022?

The 2022 Giro d’Italia was won by Jai Hindley of Bora–Hansgrohe, taking his first Grand Tour victory and becoming the first Australian to win the Giro. The Australian entered the Giro’s final weekend just three seconds behind Ecuador’s Richard Carapaz (INEOS Grenadiers) on the race’s General Classification, and pulled on the Maglia Rosa after dropping Carapaz on the Passo Fedaia, the final climb of Saturday’s Stage 20. Hindley ended the day 1:25 ahead of Carapaz on GC, which was more than enough to defend the jersey on Sunday’s final stage, a 17 km individual time trial in Verona.
