When is the Grand National 2019 race?
The 2019 edition of the Grand National will be held April 6-9. The three-day opening festival begins on April 4.
The Grand National Aintree racecourse
Located at Aintree, in the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton, Aintree racecourse is renowned as the home of the Grand National.
With a distance of 4 miles and 514 yards, the Grand National is the longest National Hunt race in Britain.
The race consists of two laps of 16 fences. In the first lap, all 16 fences are jumped. In the second, The Chair and the Water Jump are avoided, with the runners bearing to the right onto the run-in for home.
