Depending on the tier you purchase, an ExpressVPN subscription can also include access to our suite of cybersecurity tools and features, including:
- ExpressKeys: A privacy-first password manager protected with zero-knowledge encryption. Included with Advanced and Pro.
- ExpressMailGuard: A secure email relay service for protection against data breaches, spam, and phishing attacks. Included with Basic, Advanced, and Pro (features vary by tier).
- ExpressAI: A privacy-by-design AI assistant with access to advanced models like GPT OSS and DeepSeek R1. Conversations are encrypted: they can’t be accessed by the provider or used for AI training. Included with Pro.
- Identity Defender (U.S. customers only): An extensive suite of tools that helps protect against identity misuse through real-time alerts, data removal services, credit monitoring, and ID theft insurance.* Included with Advanced and Pro (features vary by tier).
- holiday.com eSIM: eSIMs for over 200+ countries with mobile data on demand. Included with Advanced and Pro (included data varies by tier).
Once you have created an account, you can use the ExpressVPN+ dashboard to see what features your current subscription provides. Subscriptions via most payment types renew automatically, and you can use your account settings to manage autorenewal settings at any time.

With the 12-month plan and 2-year offer, Advanced includes:
- Everything from the monthly plan.
- Identity Defender (U.S. customers only, limited to 5 types of monitoring).
- eSIM with 3 days of unlimited data from holiday.com.
You can also purchase a dedicated IP address as an add-on to the Advanced tier.

Subscription durations
When purchasing your chosen subscription tier, you’ll have three options:
Monthly subscriptions
ExpressVPN offers monthly plans for the Basic, Advanced, and Pro subscriptions.
Monthly plans renew automatically on the same date each month. To cancel the renewal, you must initiate the cancellation procedure before midnight on the renewal date. Follow the steps in our guide to canceling your ExpressVPN subscription.
Yearly subscriptions
ExpressVPN offers a 12-month subscription for the Basic, Advanced, and Pro tiers. Depending on your offer, you may receive additional months of service in your first year. The yearly subscription is automatically renewed on the same date once per year.
To cancel the renewal, you have to initiate the procedure before midnight on the renewal date. Follow the steps in our guide to canceling your ExpressVPN subscription.
2-year introductory offers (renews yearly)
ExpressVPN has a 2-year introductory offer for the Basic, Advanced, and Pro tiers. Depending on your offer, you may receive additional months of service in your first 2-year period. This offer is automatically renewed yearly at the end of the initial 2-year period.

How renewal works
When you first subscribe, your initial and renewal price and your renewal frequency will be clearly disclosed at checkout, immediately above the subscribe button. When you sign up for a 12-month subscription or 2-year offer, you may receive a special introductory discount applicable to the first period only.
Introductory discounted rates are designed to give new users the chance to experience ExpressVPN at a lower cost. After this initial term, your plan renews at the rate disclosed upon checkout. The renewal rate is subject to change with advance notice to you.
