Refer a Friend NowMediaStreamer is a DNS service designed to improve your streaming experience. If your device doesn’t natively support VPN, MediaStreamer is a great alternative for streaming.
To use MediaStreamer smoothly, you must register your IP address on the ExpressVPN website. This allows ExpressVPN to recognize your IP address and grant your device access to MediaStreamer.
Note: MediaStreamer is not a VPN and does not offer the privacy and security benefits of a VPN. You cannot change locations with MediaStreamer.
The following steps were tested on Linksys WRT 3200 ACM.

1. Register your IP address on the ExpressVPN website
2. Get your MediaStreamer IP addresses
3. Change the DNS settings on your Linksys router
1. Register your IP address on the ExpressVPN website
- Log into the ExpressVPN+ portal. If prompted, enter your email and click Send Code.

- Enter the verification code sent to your email.
- Select your profile picture and click DNS Settings.

- Under IP address registration, click Register my IP address. If it already reads “registered” next to your IP address, there is no need to select this option again.

- Toggle Automatically register my IP address on. This is recommended as it automatically tracks changes to your IP address.

If you have enabled Automatically register your IP address, you can keep your IP address updated by using the ExpressVPN app on your device or signing in to your ExpressVPN account occasionally.

3. Change the DNS settings on your Linksys router
- To access your router admin panel, go to 192.168.1.1 in your web browser. Sign in with the router password. The default administrator password of an unconfigured Linksys node is usually admin. If you have changed it, enter the new password instead. With the latest firmware, routers that support IMDA no longer use admin as the default password; in those cases, check the label on the bottom of the router for the pre-assigned password.
- If your router’s IP address was changed in the past and you cannot remember it, you can find it in your device’s settings.
- In the left sidebar, click Connectivity.

- In the top navigation bar, click Local Network.

- For Static DNS 1 and Static DNS 2, enter the MediaStreamer IP addresses found earlier. Click Apply.
Note: If you have a Linksys Mesh system, DNS is configured through the Linksys mobile app instead.
