Find your ExpressVPN account credentials
In order to use ExpressVPN on your Windows Phone, you will need to set up a new VPN profile. To set up a VPN profile, you will need a server address, your account credentials, and the IPsec pre-shared key. This section of the tutorial will show you how to find all of this information.
Open the Welcome Email you received when you signed up for ExpressVPN. Tap the link in the email.
Sign in to your ExpressVPN account using your ExpressVPN username and password.
After signing in, tap on Set Up ExpressVPN.
Tap on Manual Config on the left side of the screen and then select PPTP & L2TP/IPsec on the right. This will show you your username, password, and a list of server addresses around the world.
Please note this information as you will need it to set up your VPN connection for L2TP and PPTP.

In the VPN options menu, tap the plus sign (+) to add a VPN connection.
Now let’s add an L2TP or PPTP VPN connection. (Note: we recommend L2TP over PPTP because it is more secure.)

Set up an L2TP VPN connection
To set up an L2TP VPN connection, you will need your server address, username and password, and the IPsec pre-shared key from earlier.
In the “Add a VPN connection” menu, select or enter the following information: the
VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
Connection name: [select a name of your choice]
Server name or address: [ExpressVPN server address]
VPN type: L2TP/IPsec with pre-shared key
Pre-shared key: [pre-shared key]

Fix the L2TP problem
NOTE: In our build of Windows 10 Mobile, we noticed that after setting up an L2TP VPN connection, the pre-shared key would get modified and create problems while connecting.
To solve this problem, tap the name of your VPN connection, then tap Properties.
In the Connection properties menu, tap Edit.
On the next screen, re-enter the pre-shared key from earlier, then tap Save.
Return to the main VPN screen and try connecting again.

Set up a PPTP VPN connection
NOTE: We do not recommend using PPTP unless absolutely necessary. PPTP offers only minimal security. Use L2TP if you can.
To set up a PPTP VPN connection, you will need your server address, username, and password from earlier.
In the “Add a VPN connection” menu, select or enter the following information: the
VPN provider: Windows (built-in)
Connection name: [select a name of your choice]
Server name or address: [ExpressVPN server address, which you obtained earlier]
VPN type: Point to Point Tunnelling Protocol (PPTP)
Type of sign-in info: Username and password
Username: [ExpressVPN username, which you obtained earlier]
Password: [ExpressVPN password, which you obtained earlier]
Make sure you check Remember my sign-in info, then tap Save.
