We’ve upgraded our Identity Defender protection tools from a feature inside the VPN to a dedicated standalone app. Currently available to ExpressVPN users in the U.S., this release brings a completely redesigned dashboard, expanded monitoring capabilities, and higher insurance coverage limits.
Here’s what’s new:
- Standalone app: A dedicated home for your identity protection, separating your personal data monitoring from your VPN connection.
- Protection score: A real-time health check that tracks your risk level and highlights specific actions to improve your security.
- Expanded monitoring: We have added sensors for Home & Auto Title fraud, Neighborhood Watch, Court Records, 401(k) activity, and high-risk financial transactions.
- Credit tools: A dedicated tab for financial health featuring a continuous Credit Scanner and monthly Credit Reports.
- Automated data removal: A privacy tool that scans data broker sites for your personal info and automatically sends removal requests on your behalf.
- Enhanced insurance: Coverage is now available up to $5M USD, including a new Cash Recovery benefit for stolen funds (availability varies by plan).
- Unified dashboard: Organize your tools into three focused tabs: Security (alerts), Credit (financials), and Privacy (data removal).
