This guide will show you how to uninstall or remove the ExpressVPN app on various devices. Click on your device from the list below to jump to the steps you need.

Windows

The below instructions are for Windows 11 and Windows 10.

Windows 11

There are several ways to uninstall the ExpressVPN app on Windows 11.

Uninstall from Start menu

  1. Click Window's Start button. > All apps and look for the ExpressVPN app in the list shown.
  2. Right-click the ExpressVPN app and select Uninstall. You will then be taken to Control Panel.
  3. In Control Panel, right-click the ExpressVPN app and select Uninstall.

Uninstall from Settings

  1. Click Window's Start button. > Settings Settings icon. > Apps > Apps & features.
  2. Find the ExpressVPN app, then clickVertical ellipsis.> Uninstall.

Uninstall from Control Panel

  1. In search on the taskbar, type Control Panel and select it from the results.
  2. Click Programs > Programs and Features. 
  3. Find the ExpressVPN app and right-click.
  4. Select Uninstall or Uninstall/Change, then follow the directions.
Windows 10

From your Windows desktop, go to Settings > Apps.

Scroll through the list of programs until you locate ExpressVPN. Select ExpressVPN and then click Uninstall.

Click "Uninstall."

If you see that ExpressVPN is still listed as an available connection after uninstalling:

  1. Click Window's Start button. , and then press Windows key + R to launch the Run command.
  2. Type ncpa.cpl on the Run command and then press Enter to go to your Network Connections window.
  3. On your Network Connections window, right-click the WAN Miniport labeled ExpressVPN.
  4. Click Delete.
  5. From your Windows desktop, go to Settings > Network & Internet > VPN.
  6. If you see ExpressVPN as an available connection, delete it.

Mac

To remove the ExpressVPN app from your Mac computer:

  1. Close the ExpressVPN app.
  2. Click Finder in your Mac’s Dock. The Finder icon looks like a blue smiling face.
  3. Click Applications.
  4. Click Utilities. You might need to scroll to find it.
  5. Click Terminal.
  6. Copy and paste this command directly into Terminal: /Applications/ExpressVPN.app/Contents/Resources/uninstall.toolPress the return key to run the command you just pasted.
  7. Type “yes” when asked, then enter your password to confirm you want to remove the app from your computer.
    Enter your username and password to remove the ExpressVPN app.
  8. Close Terminal. ExpressVPN has been removed from your computer.

Android

To uninstall ExpressVPN on your Android device:

  1. Tap and hold the ExpressVPN icon on the home screen. Then tap Info icon. .
  2. Tap Uninstall, then tap OK.

Tap “OK” to uninstall ExpressVPN.

iOS

To remove ExpressVPN on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod:

  1. Tap and hold the ExpressVPN icon until the app icons vibrate. Tap Delete App.Tap "Delete App."
  2. Tap Delete to remove the app. The app is now deleted from your device.
    Tap "Delete" to remove the app.

Apple TV

To remove ExpressVPN on your Apple TV:

  1. Find the ExpressVPN app on your Apple TV’s home screen, then press and hold the clickpad center (Siri Remote 2nd generation or later) or touch surface (Siri Remote 1st generation).
  2. Select Delete App.
  3. Select Delete or Offload.

Offload removes the app from the Home Screen to free up storage. However, your Apple TV will retain the ExpressVPN app’s data in case you install it again.

Delete also deletes the ExpressVPN app’s data. You can download the app again, but the stored data may not be restored.

Android TV

To uninstall ExpressVPN on your Android TV:

  1. Go to Apps and find ExpressVPN.
  2. Select and hold on the ExpressVPN app, then select Uninstall.Select "Uninstall."
  3. Select OK. The app is now deleted from your Android TV.

To uninstall ExpressVPN on your Fire TV:

  1. On your Fire device, go to Settings > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.
  2. Scroll down the list to find ExpressVPN.
  3. Select Uninstall > Uninstall. The app is now removed from your Fire device.

To uninstall ExpressVPN on Linux, run the following commands depending on your Linux distro:

Ubuntu / Debian / Mint:

sudo dpkg -r expressvpn

Fedora:

sudo dnf remove expressvpn

Run command to uninstall ExpressVPN.

Arch:

pacman -R expressvpn

To uninstall ExpressVPN on Chromebook:

  1. On your desktop, select "Google Play" icon..
    Select the Play Store icon.
  2. In the Play Store search bar, search for ExpressVPN. Select ExpressVPN. Click Uninstall.Click "Uninstall."
  3. Click OK to uninstall. The app is now removed from your device.Click “OK” to uninstall.
