ExpressVPN and Settlewell bring online privacy into the move to Spain
Eligible customers can get two months on us with select Advanced plans through Settlewell’s guided relocation journey.
Moving to Spain now begins long before the flight. It starts with online forms, new accounts, identity checks, provider comparisons, and a growing collection of documents that need to reach the right people.
You may need to arrange banking, utilities, internet, insurance, and a Spanish mobile plan within a few weeks. Much of that work happens before you arrive, often while you’re navigating unfamiliar providers and processes for the first time.
ExpressVPN is partnering with Settlewell to make online privacy and security part of that preparation. This is ExpressVPN’s first integration into a relocation onboarding journey, placing its tools alongside the banking and other essential services you may need to arrange before moving.
If you’re an eligible new BBVA non-resident banking customer, you can get two months on us with select Advanced plans through Settlewell’s platform.
A guided start through Settlewell
Settlewell helps you organize the practical services involved in moving to Spain through one guided journey. It provides a personalized relocation roadmap and English-language support for arranging essentials such as banking, electricity, internet, mobile service, and insurance.
Instead of navigating a series of disconnected providers alone, you can see what needs to be arranged, what can be completed before arrival, and which tasks depend on having a Spanish address or other local details.
ExpressVPN appears within that journey as an additional privacy and security benefit. If you’re eligible, you’ll receive a unique Settlewell code, which you can use to redeem the offer with a qualifying Advanced plan on the ExpressVPN website.
"Moving countries can be exciting, but the administration can quickly become overwhelming," says Simon Nilsson, Founder at Settlewell. "Our role is to give people a clearer route through setting up their home in Spain and taking control of the household bills, so they know what to arrange and when. Adding ExpressVPN means online privacy and security can become part of that preparation too."
How the Advanced tier supports the move
When you move countries, you may find yourself opening several new accounts, sharing sensitive documents, and using unfamiliar connections within a short period. The ExpressVPN Advanced tier brings together VPN protection with tools for managing passwords, limiting email exposure, and reducing risks while researching and signing up for new services.
"Moving countries creates a high concentration of new accounts, sensitive documents, and unfamiliar connections," says Zac Eller, GM of Global Partnerships at ExpressVPN. "That makes it especially important to protect the accounts, personal information, and connections supporting the move. Building those safeguards early is much easier than trying to recover access or correct a mistake after arriving."
Protect devices throughout the move
Before permanent home internet is installed, you may be relying on Wi-Fi in temporary accommodation, cafes, shared workspaces, or other places you don’t normally connect from. ExpressVPN lets you connect up to 12 supported devices to the VPN at the same time, including phones, laptops, and tablets. This helps protect internet traffic when you’re using a shared or unfamiliar connection.
Create stronger logins with ExpressKeys
A move can involve opening several important accounts within a short period. ExpressKeys can generate and store unique passwords and passkeys, autofill login details, and help identify weak or exposed credentials. That makes it easier to avoid reusing one password across banking, utilities, mobile service, insurance, and other providers.
Share less of your primary email address
Email often sits at the center of a move, with banking messages, provider contracts, booking confirmations, identity checks, and password resets arriving in the same inbox. ExpressMailGuard provides private email aliases that forward messages to an existing inbox. You can use different aliases when signing up for new services, then disable one if it begins receiving unwanted messages without needing to change your primary email address.
Reduce exposure while researching providers
Moving to a new country often means comparing banks, utilities, insurers, and other providers you haven’t used before. ExpressVPN’s Advanced Protection feature helps block trackers, ads, and malicious sites while the VPN is connected. That can provide an additional layer of protection when you’re comparing unfamiliar providers, following links, and visiting websites you haven’t used before.
Stay connected after arrival
Qualifying Advanced subscriptions include a holiday.com eSIM benefit* with 3GB of data valid for three days, helping eligible customers get online while arranging a permanent Spanish mobile service.
*Device compatibility, activation timing, and full terms apply.
