If you see any of the following error messages in your connection log on macOS:

Cannot allocate TUN/TAP dev dynamically

Sorry, something went wrong. There was an unexpected error.We’ve hit an unexpected error. This is a bug in our application and we would like to fix it.

You may be running an old version of ExpressVPN.

To resolve this issue, you will need to update your app. The process is quick and simple. To update:

  1. Sign into your account. Enter your email address and click Send Code.Entering the email address on the ExpressVPN sign-in page.
  2. Enter the verification code and click Continue.Entering the verification code on the ExpressVPN sign-in page.
  3. In the left sidebar, choose Account > Set Up Devices and choose your device. Click the Download Now button.The ExpressVPN setup page.
  4. After you have downloaded the latest version of the app, install ExpressVPN on your machine. Now you can continue to enjoy the Internet with safety and privacy!
