You are encountering an error that usually happens if the configuration files are not loaded correctly. To fix the issue, uninstall the ExpressVPN app, restart your machine, and then download the ExpressVPN app again.

Note: The following instructions for uninstalling programs are for Windows 11.

  1. Type Control Panel in your search bar and open it.The Windows 11 search menu, highlighting the Control Panel and Open buttons.
  2. Under Programs, click Uninstall a program.The Windows Control Panel, outlining the Programs/Uninstall a program options.
  3. Find ExpressVPN, right-click it, and choose Uninstall.The Windows 11 uninstall menu, highlighting the ExpressVPN app and Uninstall options.
  4. Accept the pop-up, and ExpressVPN will be uninstalled from your computer.The ExpressVPN uninstallation loading screen that appears during deletion.
  5. After uninstalling the program, restart your machine.

Once you have restarted your machine, download the ExpressVPN app, setup the app, and connect to a server location.
