After a 16-game regular season, 12 teams will compete in the NFL playoffs. The four division champions from each conference will automatically qualify for the playoffs, while the two next best teams in each conference will qualify for the wildcard round. All playoff games are one-off elimination matches.
The wildcard round pits the four lower-seeded division champions against the four conference wildcards, with the winner moving on to face the four higher-seeded division champions. From there, the winner of the playoffs will claim the Lombardi trophy. This year, it will be the New England Patriots versus the Atlanta Falcons in NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas for all the marbles.
