1) Download the ExpressVPN Dialer file provided by our support team, or listed when you log into the ExpressVPN website

2) Extract the file to a folder. Be sure to fully extract the ZIP file. The files won't fully function if they're still in the ZIP file.

  

3) You'll see these two files:

If you're in a country with censorship: Double-click on "ExpressVPN_L2TP". This is more secure but requires a few simple setup-steps as described below.

Otherwise, you can choose to double-click on "ExpressVPN_PPTP". This is less secure, but doesn't need any extra steps to setup. You can now skip to the "Connecting" section below.

4) Double-click the "ExpressVPN_L2TP" file, then click "Properties"

5) Click the "Security" tab

6) Please make sure to place check-mark next to "Microsoft CHAP Version 2 (MS-CHAP v2)" and "Challenge Handshake"

7) Click "Advanced settings"

8) Enter the pre-shared key 12345678, then click OK twice to return to the connection-window

You're now done with setup. You only need to perform these steps once. You do NOT need to repeat them for each individual server.

 

CONNECTING TO THE VPN

1) Select the server to which you'd like to connect

2) Click Connect

3) Enter the username and password for your PPTP/L2TP account and click "Connect"

4) You'll see a connection window appear for a few seconds

5) All done. You should now be connected to the VPN. You can now use the Internet with freedom and security.

 

TO DISCONNECT FROM THE VPN

1) Double-click the file that you used to connect

2) Click "Hang up"
